It’s been more than 2 months already since I was planning to post some photos from my first Food photography & styling workshop that I organized in Zagreb with my friend and colleague Natalie from Natalies’ Happy Health! What can I say, all the usual things happened, you know life, too much work, various projects, days too short for all that you want/need to do and in the end before I realized Summer is already here and I’m actually planning my second workshop yaaay! And third lol! 😀 So I figured out it was about time to post these photos and say few words about the first workshop I had in April…
For this workshop me and Natalie went for the urban location, in the modern and spacious apartment in the old city centre of Zagreb with the beautiful views of old roofs and pebbled streets. As you can see on the photos the apartment had beautiful light and plenty of space for our group of attendees to feel comfortable and pleasant. Besides sharing the knowledge I gained over these last few years on food photography and styling, my main goal for the day was that people feel really good being there so with my partner I made sure to give as much as we could and make a wonderful experience for our attendees that came from all around the country.
This workshop was held in Croatian but I’m planning some in English too and can’t wait to share more so if you are interested, keep following me here and on my social media… 🙂 Definitely, workshops are something that I wanted to start doing for quite some time now and literally my heart is bursting from the excitement when I think about what the future workshops I’m planning in Croatia and abroad! It’s a wonderful feeling when you figure out what you want to do and nothing makes me more happy than photography and sharing that love and passion with people who feel the same and want to learn more!
We had such amazing partners for this workshop and they made the whole experience really special both for our attendees and for me & Natalie! I couldn’t thank them enough for being so willing to participate and looking forward to working with them again in the future! Our desserts were made by ever so talented Mia from Meet Mia and I think it’s fair to say that these mini raspberry tarts and the decadent chocolate cake she prepared for us were some of the best desserts we ever had, so so delicious and pretty to photograph too! In this styling with raspberry tarts I used super pretty ceramic espresso cups and vase by talented Croatian artist Marina from Marinski Heartmades. I mean, look how pretty they are!
I was so lucky to have beautiful ceramic pieces from three talented artists for our styling and shooting sessions. With the chocolate cake styling I used these gorgeous plates by Tea from Terra ceramics and she is not only incredibly talented but such a sweet person too and I always love working with her!
Another very talented artist that I worked with was Igor from Art studio Croker and I’m just in love with his simple but strong, bold pieces, his ceramics is absolutely beautiful and I can’t wait to use it again in my work! Don’t you agree that even simple yogurt with granola looks special and amazing when served like this? 🙂
I have to mention that besides learning, styling, shooting… we also had plenty of opportunities to enjoy our snacks, desserts and cups of coffee while getting to know each other and that was so much fun! We also had a delicious lunch that Good Food prepared and delivered for us so I believe there was plenty of food as it should be at food photography workshop! 😀
The best part of the workshop for me was getting all the wonderful positive feedback from our attendees and hearing that they learnt a lot and had the best time was such a rewarding thing. Worth all the work definitely! Anyway, I think you got the idea how much I enjoy doing this and you can expect many more workshops to come, hopefully my dreams will turn into reality. Well, I do believe that hard work and putting all your heart and soul into whatever you are doing, pays off in the end… At the end of the day when we said goodbyes, we gave everybody a bag full of treats from our wonderful partners: raw cacao from Bio Svijet, organic blueberry jam from Borovnice Lisjak, delicious raw almond balls from Raw Sweets by Mihaela and delicious crunchy grisini by Nutrikulti.
Hope you enjoyed this little tour, let me know what you think and if you have any questions, you can always write to me here or on my Instagram and Facebook accounts! Lots of love, Lili
