Are you a fan of smoothies? If yes, you’ll like these colourful winter smoothies! I have periods when I’m totally obsessed and crave them every day and then periods when I’m like ‘give me all the bread and butter and jam’ and not even thinking about smoothies lol! But that’s ok and we need to have variety as well as listen to our body and what we crave. So basically I eat only food I find tasty and satisfying and most of that is homemade, healthy, local and organic but some of it is not so healthy but still needed to make me happy! 😀
Yes, I eat lots of fruit and vegetables, healthy whole grains, organic chicken, fish etc but also rich chocolate cake, apple strudel, pasta and warm bread!! I believe balance is important and as long as we eat healthy most of the time, it’s totally fine to have ‘not healthy’ treats from time to time if that makes us happy. So ‘what’ we eat is important but also ‘ how much”. There is a difference in having a slice of homemade apple cake and enjoying every single bite to the fullest or devouring a box of store bought cookies.
Let’s talk about smoothies a bit! Lately I’ve been craving smoothies daily and wanted to try some different flavours combinations than the ones I usually make (like this creamy Banana almond butter smoothie or these refreshing Purple detox smoothies). So, here are the three combinations that I really enjoyed and thought it would be good to share with all of you if you want to try them out:
- Beetroot & cacao (so so delicious, this one is my favourite!)
- Pear & spinach (great way to get your doze of ‘greens’, refreshing and tasty!)
- Hazelnut & apple (creamy and sweet, yum!)
